This XrmToolBox tool allows you to delete or change the data type/schema name of the column (developed by Daryl LaBar).

If the column needs to be deleted or re-created with a different schema name/data type later in the project, it takes a lot of effort to remove the column from all dependent components (forms, views, workflows, etc.), publish, create the new column, re-add in all dependent components.

To delete/convert column type easily, you can use this tool to select the column, specify whether to delete/just convert the column type/migrate the data from the old to the new column and the tool will handle the dependencies automatically in the backend.
